Ashley Painter
Jared and Ashley Painter founded Freedom Ministries in 2023 after a year of leading the ministry unofficially from a barn in their backyard. They proceeded to operate the ministry in that location for another year before moving into a building. In the fall of 2024, Tristan Smith, became a trustee and Tristan and Ashley co-directed the location in South Reno together. In 2025, two more educational enrichment centers opened! God is blessing this ministry with even more for 2026!
My Story
My majors in college were early childhood education and criminal justice, but my love for children started way before that. At 16 I was a nanny to three children ages 6 months to 7 years old, until the time I was 20 and had a child of my own. I now have 4 children, two of whom still live at home. I have created youth group programs for churches, led children's ministries, worked in the daycare setting and have been a foster parent. I have homeschooled my own children for over 10 years and graduated 2 successful adults. My passion is teaching children in a loving, safe, and truthful way.

I also have extensive experience in corporate law as an apprentice to my father for much of my young adult life. My management experience ranges from leading previous businesses to being the controller of all food services at the airport. I have created and managed multiple businesses, for profit and non-profit, as well as led small and large teams.

God has spent my entire life preparing me for this calling. All failed attempts as well as successes have led to this calling. I believe that children are a gift from God and deserve the safest place to learn how to think, not what to think. I desire to help make heaven crowded by playing my role in teaching children and families of the love of Jesus and his desire for families.
